Why storytelling?
Stories connect us.
Stories create a web of connection, and open up a space for us to deeply listen, authentically connect, and come together as a community. Storytelling is a social act, and when we gather together to listen to a story, we share a powerful common experience.
Storytelling engages our minds, hearts, and souls.
As storytellers, when we tell stories in the live moment, we engage our hearts, minds, and souls, and this communicates directly to the minds, hearts, and souls of our listeners. This makes storytelling one of the richest and deepest forms of communication available to us as humans.
The wisdom of stories provides a map to guide us through uncharted territory.
Listening to traditional stories, and reflecting on our own life’s stories help us connect and discover our own resilience, inner wisdom, and insight. When faced with challenges or change, the wisdom we discover in stories provides us guidance on how to move forward.
